"Laerdal Global Health has won the coveted INDEX: Award -- the most highly regarded design award in the world. INDEX: Design to Improve Life is a key player in the field of social and sustainable design for the global community. Not only a highly esteemed prize, INDEX: AWARD is also the largest of its kind in the world. Laerdal Global Health has decided to donate their prize money (100,000 Euros) to the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM). With this funding, ICM will continue to train and equip birth attendants in the Helping Mothers Survive and Helping Babies Breathe training programs with the Natalie Collection. By 2015, these programs aim to train one million birth attendants in basic newborn and obstetric care, to help save the lives of mothers and babies at birth."
